Jamaican Jerk Chili

This is SO good! Make as hot as you like

Ingredients
1 large red onion
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 small hot pepper, jalapeno or jamaica hot
3/4 lb hot italian sausage , (approx. 4 links)
1 lb ground beef
1 heaping tablespoon jamaica dry jerk seasoning
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cloves garlic
1 can fresh cut diced tomatoes (1lb 12 oz)
1 cup ketchup
2 cans small red kidney beans (15.5 oz ea.)
1 bag shredded cheddar cheese
8 small round breads
Chop up onion and all peppers.
Remove skin from sausage and brown in skillet, chop up as browns, approx 5 mins.

Add ground beef to skillet, add jerk seasoning, chili powder, and cayenne pepper.
Continue until brown then switch to large soup pot.
Add 3/4 of chopped onion and all peppers, crush the garlic cloves and add, continue until completely brown (about 5 min.)
Add tomatoes and ketchup. Simmer 20 minutes.
Add kidney beans. Simmer 10 minutes.
Scoop out bread for bread bowls, save insides for dipping in chili.
Serve in bread bowl topped with grated cheddar and remaining onion.
